    Awoke with a rather uncomfortable feelings heavy rain having fallen in the night which rather moistened our quarters. Today we listened to the reading of the articles of war. The follow is the list of companies formed or forming in camp at present.

7 companies were inspected and Sworn into United States service several refused to take the oath and some were rejected, the boys boiled over with patriotism, throwing up hats and cheering lustily.
