    Today we have been all excitement in camp in consequence of a call to be prepared to march in 24 hours. Some of the boys gathered up all old newspapers and peddled the latest news, others packed up their effects in their knapsacks and all were rejoice to think we were to be off. Many wrote letters to dear friends, this evening it all turns out a hoax. The regiment was fully organized today field officers sworn in and everything in readiness to go at any moment.
