Tues 20, Camp 50

    The rain still pouring in torrents. Took up the line of march in the rain, went 8 miles to the river crossing. A foraging party of 50 men were surrounded yesterday by the rebels and all either killed or taken prisoners, the reports of musketry can be heard in the direction of our pickets this evening.
