    Day excessively warm. 4 companies went on a foraging expedition got plenty of corn, bacon, molasses. The Secesh officer shot at by Co. F yesterday was found today dead. This memorandum had recorded the name of GW Donnagan. Our prayer meeting was well attended in evening. Our temple is the leafy grove, and while we worship we can look up through the leafy bower away into the blue vault of heaven, wander among the stars and contemplate the majesty of him who ruleth this beautiful universe. Ours is a primitive worship, oh that was may enjoy the blessings of a primitive religion.
