Wakened by a singular reveille, the discharge of musketry. An impromptu celebration was gotten up in camp.
Did the duties of Chaplain. Reading the Declaration of Capt. Carpenter of 9th, speeches by Col Candever of 9th, Capt Peters of 4th Cavalry and others.
Conducted funeral services of Wiley East of Co. D who died after protracted illness.....unmarried.
