Wed 9, Camp No 61
On the march early, halted at 9 AM to let Osterham Division cross the pontoon. The highway so far presents a continued scene of desolation from Jackson Port, inhabitants all gone but a few negros. They have burned all their cotton. Camped on Buffalo Bayou. The weather being warm and dry, we do not pitch our tents.
