    Last night was cool in fact chilly. Today is very warm. These variations in temperature must be injurious to a northern constitution. The exercises of the day were as formerly. May God bless my weak labors to the good of some soul. Oh savior help me to forget self and work through Christ. 

    This morning a negress came to our quarters asking for an opportunity to work for "'de sojers." We have employed her for cook. May she soon realize the meaning of freedom.
