    Ordered to be ready to move. Wrote letter home and to N.D.L. 

    A flag of truce and a squad of secesh under Col. Gist are at Head Qurt. One of our scouts brought in. Killed by a [guerilla]. Got acquainted with the chaplain 34th Ind Reg Rev. (Mr.) Griswold.
