    A cloudy day. Dull heavy atmosphere. Preach from Psalm XXXIX 1. A laborious ad difficult effort. Neglected secret devotion. Acted as though my own powers were sufficient. A good lesson of experience. Must depend on the strength of God. 

    An interesting prayer meeting in the evening. Good attendance.
