    Day commenced cloudy with rain. News yesterday favorable for McClellan. Longstreet and division prisoners with 6 batteries of artillery. Jackson prisoner. Lee wounded. Etc. etc. etc. etc. 

    Read letter from home and Uncle Skinner. Rained all day. Raining tonight.
