    Subscribed to the oath to support the Constitution of the United States and the state of Iowa and received my commission as Chaplain of the 9th Reg Iowa vol Infantry. Wrote letter home. Arrangements made among the Chaplains for Brigade service. Oath admin by Col. Vandever.
