    A pleasant day for outdoor worship. Brigade service at 10 1/2 AM. Chap Kirkpatric from II Co XI 16, at 3 PM by Maj Rector from Rom 8.2.

    Distributed a number of the messenger to the men. Thankfully read by them with promise to read. Religious reading a serious lack in the army. Had a soul stiring (sic) prayer meeting in the evening. 

    A large number of the 24 visit us. Introduced to Rev Cap. Williams. 

    35 contrabands came in from the St. Francis road.
